LIN WELL, of Northwood, Grand Forks county, was born In the county of Chisago, state of Minnesota, on the 2d day of April, 1857, of Swedish ancestry, who settled in Rush City, Chisago county, Minnesota, In 1852; received an academical education In Minnesota; came to Dakota in 1881; was a successful practitioner before the United States land office from 1882 to 1886; is owner of large tracts of Dakota land under cultivation; was admitted to the bar at Grand Forks, Dak., and is at present engaged in the practice of law in Northwood; was elected to the constitutional convention as a republican, receiving 685 votes, against 812 votes for the democratic candidate.EDWARD H.
