Advice sought on planning proceduresThe North Carolina Department of Transportation is asking for the public’s help on improving its planning process.“Current Planning Practices of NCDOT,” a report documenting planning practices in the department, will be available for public review at the NCDOT’s 14 highway division offices across the state for the next 38 days. In Aberdeen, the office is on U.S. 1, one mile north of Aberdeen.Comments and suggestions received in response to the report will be used to develop a Statewide Transportation Plan,” which will include major goals and objectives for the Department, as well as information on highway, rail, public transportation, aviation, bicycle, and pedestrian transportation modes and how they relate to the overall transportation system in the state.Comments should be made in writing no later than August 19 to James T.
