Open House y.f will be held both days from 1 to 7 Llj p.m. j LeFirms which will occupy office space in the new building along with the Progressive Builders Association are: Sun Valley Life Insurance Company, Williams and J ones Contracting Company, and Jones Realty and Insurance Agency and also a drygoods store which is scheduled to open on approximately the same date as the offices. #Since organization of the Progressive Builders Association in 1946, it has made tremendous contribution to Negroes’ housing problem in the Phoenix area. The company purchased a 160 acre ranch and subdivided a portion of it and built modern homes, with plans to develop the other portion as the need for more homes demands. The restrictions on the East Broadway subdivision make it necessary for all homes in the area to meet or surpass FHA specifications, Mr. Jones, the president, said.Not only has the company provided beautiful homesites, bu* other activities which have greatly stimulated the growth and progress of the Broadway area. A beautiful and modernly equipped school has been built in the area. Stores, recreation and shopping centers, as well as other new homes have sprung up.The once narrow Broadway Road has been widened and paved.
