SCUPHAM AND GATHERING OF GUESTSFireworks On Lawn Follow Bridge and Refreshments At Scupham HomeOne of Homewood’s most attractive parties on July fourth was that ar-j ranged by Mrs. George Scupham in celebration of the birthday of her j husband, Dr. George Scupham.! Nine tables of bridge were in the j play of the evening, followed by delicious refreshments arranged in keeping with Independence Day.As the evening drew to a close a huge basket was carried onto the j lawn, filled with red and blue packages. The men drew the blue parcels and the ladies the red ones.Opened,, the packages revealed an assortment of sparklers for the ladies and Roman candles and fire crackers for the men. At twelve o’clock the lreworks were lighted and the Doctor’s birthday ushered in with due ceremony.
