The Browne MmrAer Case.Early this morning a large number of people had congregated at the City Buildings, in order to be in attendance at the trial of the Iter. Samuel J. Browne, charged with the murder of the boy Francis Shick, Not more than sne-half could gain admittance, and as those inside became somewhat boisterous, it was necessary to clear the court room. The majority of the spectators were German.The defendant was sustained by T. A. Logan Isaac M, Jordan and L J. Miller.The old man was brought into the court room at 20 minutes past 10 o’clock, apparently very weak and much excited.The mother of the murdered boy was also in the court room, dressed in mourning, and apparently much depressed.Twenty - two witnesses for the State answered to their names.The first witness called was George Kratz, one of the boys who was with Schick at the time of the shooting, whose testimony was similar to that given before the Coroner’s jury.Dr. Armstrong was next examined as to the nature of the wound. Three guns were produced, the property of the prisoner—a double-barreled shot gun, a musket, and a large smooth-bored rifle.After the examination of the two witnesses above named, the Court adjourned nntil 2 o’clock.
