Thieves get $1,200 in 7-11 store burglaryThieves made off with and estimated $1,200 and a quantity of miscellaneous goods from a 7-11 store* at 3222 W. 115th st. over the holiday weekend.Police said the store, which is normally open for 24 hours was closed early, and was burglarized between 2 and 7:30 a.m. Friday.The thieves apparently cut the power to the store after breaking andentering a front window. The storeclock stopped at 3:20 a.m.A passer-by reported the burglary to police who then waited for the owner to appear at the store. James Ball, Oak Lawn told police he closed the store at about 2 a.m. and at 7:30 a.m. the broken window was noticed by Ron Blickhabn.After cutting the main power switch, the thieves drilled open a Boor safe located behind a counter and took $1,200 in cash.Also reported missing were 170 cartons of cigarettes, 160 8-track tapes, 20 butane lighters, miscellaneous jewelry and watches, 65 pairs of sunglasses, two transistor radios, an adding machine, a calculator and a radio tape player.Several therapeutic machines were also reported missing over the weekend from the medical center at 11141 S Kedzie Dr. Robert Thomas told police he locked the building at about 10.15 p m Friday and when he returned the next morning at 8 55 he found the side door of the building broken.Sunday, Kennedy fieldhouse was also burglarized. Police said the doorof the fieldhouse was not completely locked and could easily be forced open. Three softballs, two baseball bats, a baseball, and 20 tennis balls were reported missing
