GOSSIP OF SOCIETY. Mr. J. W. Perry will leave tonight for New York to meet his daughter, Miss Pauline Perry, who is expected to arrive Saturday fromrseas, rs. Perry, who is in Alex andria,Minn., will return home next week. Mr. and Mrs. George B. Longan, Jr., and daughters, Miss Mildred Longan and Miss Georgette Longan, will leave Saturday for a trip to !ermosa Beach, Cal. Mrs. Virgil N. Platt and daughter, Mari anna, will leave tomorrow for Charlevoix, Mich. Mr. Platt will join them later, Mrs. Richard H. Keith will be at home after Saturday for the summer at the French Convent, Thirty-sixth Street and Warwick Boulevard. Mrs. Norman A. Kennedy left yesterday for Penrose, Col., where she was called by the death of her niece. Miss Margart Leitch will leave Saturday to be the guest of Mrs. W. F. Waller and Miss Margaret Waller at their summer home at Nantucket, Mass. Mr. Waller will join them later. Mr. and Mrs. Harold F. Hecker and small men have returned to their home in St. Loui after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. A. L Berger. Mr. and Mrs. Frank R. McDermand and Miss Maud McDermand will leave today for Nantucket, Mass. The Hillcrest Country, Club will give a dinner dance July 19. Mrs. C. B. Warkentin, who has been the guest of Mrs. Maurice L. Alden, returned Tuesday to her home in Newton, Kas. Her daughter, Miss Hester Warkentin, will re main for two weeks. Mrs. O. G. Young and Mrs. O. G. Young, J.. have returned from their ranch in Ash land, Kas. Mrs. C. G. Young, Jr., and small gon, John Tootle Young, and Mrs. Young’s father, Mr. John J. Tootle of St. Joseph, Mo., will leave in a few days for Mackinac Island, Mich. Miss Frances Young is at tending a house party given by her uncle and aunt, Doctor and Mrs. S. G. Gant in Greenwich, Conn. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hi. Jennings, will leave Friday to join Mrs. Jennings’s father, Judge John C. Pollock, in Sans Souci, Can ada. Miss Georgia Berkshire gave a small luncheon yesterday in honor of Miss Julia Fay Carton of St. Louis. Mrs. Marion Sparks is entertaining Mrs. Clyde Sparks and small son, Radford, of St. Louis. Mr. Sparks will come the last of the week. Miss Virginia Quarles returned yesterday from Pennsylvania, where she has been visiting since leaving La Salle Seminary. Mrs. Carleton K. Bowen returned Tues day from a visit in Atchison, Kas. Mrs. W. C. Henrici left last night to spend the remainder of the summer in Epworth Heights, Ludington, Mich. Miss Dorothy Fisher has returned from a visit in Denver, Col. Mrs. Harry Wells will return today to her home in Chicago, after spending a few days with her brother, Mr. Fred E. Carlat, at the Carleton Hotel. Mrs. Minette Arnold and Miss Ann Lewis left last night to spend the remainder of the summer at the Broadmoor, Colorado Springs.
