A ter chant* ISanfc oj Alexandria,MAT !8;b, *816.At a special meeting ol die Hoard, il.e following resolutions were adopted ; lirtolvtd, That the affairs nf this institution be wound up; for the attainment of which object it is the opinion of this board, that a committee be appointed to consist of three pet sons to superintend the same, whose province it shall be, to adopt and pUrtmc such measures, as in their judgement, shall appear to be best calculated to secure the interest cf the stockholders, and satisfy creditors ; and who shall every month oq the first Monday thereof, report to the board ol directors their progress in the execution ol this duty.I» any debt due to the bank s .oli not in the opinion ol the commiuec, be well secured by n good and sufficient, endorser or erdoscrs, such debtor shall be called upon to give additional security 2* if such further security he not given such debtor shall be entitled to no thcr indulgence.Immediate and reasonable curtails shall be enforced ; and no paper due to the bank shall be transferred, but when collected by regular process, shall lie divided among the creditors in proportion to the amount ol the claims—and that no loss from delay, may he sustained by the holders of notes- Ue solved, Fhat deposit* in Merchants* Bank paper will be received, and cer-uficatea granted bearing interest, to be paid so soon as the monies due to the institution, arc euliected by the committee aforesaid,Peter SounderJamee And er non and Daniel M*Phereon arc appointed a committee for the above purposes.By order ol the board,JAS.
