Mrs. John Cox Obituaryj Mrs. John Cox, nee Agnes I Cunningham, was born August 15, , 1845, in Dover, Racine county Wis, | and died June 21, 1914, at Dover, j within two miles of the place of ; her birth, where she lived ail her 'Mrs. Cox had been sick for I three years with kidney trouble,! but death came suddenly and was j quite a shock to the family and ! friends.j She was married June 6, 1S73 to John Cox, who survives, together with two daughters, Mary and Agnes, to mourn the loss of one of the best of mothers and wives. She was prepared to meet her Judge, being a sufferer so long, and was ready for the final call. She passed away in peaceful sleep without one strnggle.Mrs. Cox went through some of the hardships of pioneer days, many j times walking from her father’s place it Dover to Burlington to church. She helped and saw built ; and dedicated the old St. Mary’s Church of Dover, and likewise the present beautiful edifice erected. In the early days she was a leading | member of the church choir and in addition took an active interest in | the welfare of the church. Charit-i able to a fault, she was ever ready to lend a helping hand, visit the | sick ot assist a neighbor in the time ! of need or distress.! The funeral from St. Mary’s i Catholic church was very largelyattended. Services were conducted by Rev. Schiefen. The pal! bearers were six nephews, the Cunningham brothers, as follows: Dr. Jos. L. and A. P., of Chicago; Frank, of Bayard, Iowa; Gregory, of Marquette College: Leo and Peter, of Dover, and now residing on theold homestead.- Waterford (Wisconsin) Post.The above is an item handed us by J.
