Charles Lewis’ membership was also renewed.Post Commander Ace Morrisspoke to the members about the 1973 Convention held June 23through June 25 in Houston. At the Department Convention Commander Morris receivedthe following awards for the Post which he presented at themeeting: Buddy Poppy Award, Voice of Democracy Award, Pacesetter Award, and Honor Roll Award.Both the Pacesetter andHonor Roll awards are awardsfor membership.In addition to the Post Awards, the following awards were received at the Convention: Commander Ace Morris-National Award for Post membership; Thurmond Hummer-National Award for Post Mem-bership and the Century Award(for signing up 200 or more new members).Members attending the convention were: Mr. and Mrs.Thurmond Hummer, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Venable, Mr. and Mrs. Don Hubert, CommanderMorris, Mr. Troy Williams, Mr. John Caraway, and Mr.Neal Grenthom.Honorary speakers at theconvention were Pat Carr -National Commander and Mrs. Lola Reid National Ladies Auxiliary President.New Department OfficersDolph Briscoe Announces*are.
