There were present eight ministers and lour ruling elders.Mr. Nicols has lived for years in Laurel, has served as a ruling elder, and last spring ip Alexao dria, Va , was licensed under the provision of the Constitution tor “extraordinary cases.” Since then he has been unanimously called to be pastor of the Laurel church. The Presbytery placed the call in his hands and he signified his acceptance. His examination on the various parts of trial for ordination were unanimously sustained; and in the afternoon he was ordained aud installed pastor of laurel church. Rev. K 11. Cumpston prestd ed, preached the sermon, and proposed the questions. Rev. J. A. Lefevre, I). D., gave the churge to the pastor, and Rev. J. J. Bullock the charge to the people. Rev. W. U. Another one was to be held at Harper’s Ferry, on the 221 ult.Rev. E H Cumpston.—The Presbytery of Chesapeake, at a called meeting, June 19th, dissolved the relation between the llev. E. II. Cumpston and Rockville and Bethesda churches, aud gave him a certificate to the Presbytery of Winchester, to take charge of tho churches at Hancock and Berkeley Springs, to which he has been called.The Thoruwoll Orphanago.—The receipts in May
