Moving To Eagle Grove Ty Cobs of Valpairiso, Ind., was an overnight guest Tuesday in the John Gembler home. Ty, who is a salesman for a farm implement parts company, has been trans ferred to Eagle Grove and was moving his family there Friday. Sunday, June 26, guests in the E. W. Meredith and Mrs. Edna Pirie homes were Mrs. Carrie Caf ferty of Rinard and Mr. and Mrs. Russell DeWitt and son of Farn hamville. Mrs. Joe Hubbell and two daugh ters of International Falls, Minn., came June 25 to spend some time in the Nels Nielsen homes at Rolfe and the B. B. Hubbell home. Mr. and Mrs. Alvie Carlene of Buckley, Wash., spent last week in the Elwood Garlock and B. B. Hubbell homes Mrs. Carlene is a and in the B. B. Hubbell home. Mr .and Mrs. Harry Knisley spent June 19th at Wabasso, Minn., with Mr. and Mrs. James Austin, and at Redwood Falls with Mrs. Grant Knisley. They also called on a cousin, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Con nor. James Austin is a step-brother and Mrs. Grant Knisley, step-mo ther of Harry. Has Birthday Party A birthday party Friday after noon in the Walter Grethen home honored Pam, 8 years old. Seven girls from Pam’s grade in the Mal lard Catholic school, also Virginia Henderson, Mrs. Jim Buck and children, Mrs. Bill Hough and Joleen and Mrs. W. R. [ler were present. The youngsters enjoyed a swim at the Pocahontas pool then came home for ice cream and cake. Mrs. Harold Noman, Arnold and Darwin were week-end guests over the 26th in the Roger Boel man and Ed Ackerman homes at Belmond. Arnold remained for a week at Belmond. Monday guests of Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Eppelsheimer were Mrs. Ver non Hollenbeck and Mary Low of Kankakee, Ir. Guests the past week in the N. J. Meurer home were Mrs. Stern ing Meurer. and Julie Louise of Titonia. Mrs. Edna Roush and Deanna returned home Saturday from 2 week's visit in the Frank Yeager home at New Brighton, Minn. Mr. and Mrs. Yeager , and family brought them home. He returned to his work Sunday. Mrs. Yeager and children remained for a longer visit. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Schneider man and family of Cedar Falls, en route home from a Minnesota vacation trip, were overnight guests Monday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hosier. . Pat Heathman spent several days at St. Peter, Minn., in the Harry McEwen home. Another sister, Mrs. Ida Thomas of Corval lis, Mont, was also a guest there. Mr .and Mrs. Chris Sorensen entertained forty relatives and friends at a shower honoring their new granddaughter, Laurie Ruth, who came to make her home with Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sorensen re cently. The afternoon was spent socially, Mrs. Sorensen opened the many lovely gifts after which lunch was served by the hostesses Mrs. Franklin Majorowicz, Mrs. Richard Lehigh, Mrs. Virgil Thor son, Mrs. Doyle Dailey, Mrs. Ar dell Fevold, Mrs. Bob Pederson and Mrs. Sorensen. Honored on Birthday James Trimble was honored on his 72nd birthday at a party held in the Pocahontas park. Forty-six were present at the dinner. Those attending were, Mr. and Mrs. Les Siddall and Don Jeffrys; family, Laurens; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Leith and family and Mr. and Mrs. Er win Frye, Ware; Mr. and Mrs. Oss car Trimble and family, Mar quette; Mr. and Mrs. James Trim ble and family, Plover; Mr. and Mrs. Will Johnson and family, Pocahontas; Mr. and Mrs. James Dexter, Havelock, Myr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson and family and Mr. ‘and Mrs. James Trimble of Rolf Mr. and Mrs. Merle Kerns and fam ily of Britt. Games and swimming furnished the entertainment. At the June general meeting of ‘Lutheran church in Lizard town ship, Rev. W. C. Fritschel — per formed the ceremony Saturday af ternoon, June 18. The bride was attired in a white suit and wore a corsage of pink sweetheart roses. Bridesmaid, Mrs. Marvin Junkmann of Pioneer, wore a pink suit and a corsage of pink roses. The bridegroom was attired in a navy blue suit and the best man, Mervin Junkman, wore a light blue suit. The men wore white carnation boutonnieres. The couple will reside with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. R. Wagner, Mrs. Ray Wessels and Mary Ann and Sandra Reiter visited the Junior Bible camp at Lake Ingham near Wallingford, Tuesday. Teddy Mier and Paul Muenzenmay are enrolled for the meeting which opened Sun day, June 26, and continued through Friday. Roy Dexter of Laurens spent Thursday in the Louis Athens home, the W.S.C.S. of the Methodist church the business meeting was conducted by the president, Mrs. Mike Schmidt. Life membership pins and certificates were present ed to Mrs. Fred Nelson and Mrs Wilbur Allbee. Those attending the North Iowa Conference Summer school of Missions and Christian Service at the Methodist camp, Clear Lake, June 27 to July 1, were Mrs. Fae Schon, Mrs. Fred Nelson and Mrs. John Gunderson. Mrs. George Weible of Lynwood, Calif., a guest, spoke a few words recalling incidents of interest dur ing the time she was president of the W.S.C.S. Devotions were given by Mrs. Sylvester Pease, — Mrs. Richard Hadaway gave the lesson and was assisted in a panel by several ladies. The 15th anniver sary of the National W.S.C.S. will be observed July 14. The Lu theran Ladies have invited the W.S.C.S. to a Guest Day meeting August 10. Attend Annual Reunion Rolfe people attending the an nual Johansen family, reunion at Emmetsburg Park last Sunday were, Mr. and Mrs. Art Wilkins, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wilson, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wilson, Jr., and family, Mr. and Mrs. David Hen derson and Jeanie, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Henderson and David, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Truelson and Sharon, Miss Hilda Nielsen, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Gerns, Curtis and Kenny ,and Viggo ,and Fremond Nielsen. Mrs. Muriel Wilson, Mr. and Mrs. N. A. Wilson, Janis Sue and Jimmy attended services in the Congregational church at Spencer, Sunday. Layman Stanley Scholer man, grandson of Mrs. Muriel Wil son, gave the sermon. They spent the remainder of the day visiting relatives there. Mrs. Eugene Halling of Orient is visiting her sister and brother in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Thomp son. Mr. and Mrs.George Weible, John and Karen of Lynwood, Calif., left Tuesday morning for their home after spending the past two weeks visiting here in the L. M. Poulson home and at Ustherville. Mr. and Mrs. Bert Peterson left for their home in San Gabriel, Calif., after visiting relatives and friends in Rolfe and neighboring towns for some time. Attending Summer Sessions Miss Joan Shelgren is attending summer school at Boulder, Colo., Mrs. William Spencer is attending classes at Guthrie Center, Mrs. R. 0. Mortensen is at Cedar Fally at tending Iowa State Teachers Col lege and Mrs. Roy Luft is attend ing classes at Buena Vista college, Storm Lake. Jeffrey Hoard of Spencer is spending several days visiting in the home of his grandmother, Mrs. C. Hoard. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hoard, and brother were Saturday evening callers. Karen, Connie and Tommie Douglas of Omaha, Neb., came Monday of last week to spend until after the 4th in the home of their aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Strong and family. Their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Douglas, visit ed in the Strong home Monday be fore going to Spicer, Minn., on a vacation. Mrs. Vernon Hollenbeck and Mary Lou of Kankakee, TIL, and an aunt, Mrs. Laura Seipel of Onarda, Ill, are visiting in the home of Mrs. Hollenbeck’s father, George Seipel. Mrs. Hollenbeck and Mary Lou will visit other relatives in Swea City and Plover The Amvets Auxiliary held a breakfast in the recreation rooms of the Town Power and Light Co., last Saturday. Mrs. Emmet Stall cup and Mrs. Harry Thompson are representing the Auxiliary at the State meeting in Waterloo, July 7 to 10. The breakfast was held to help defray their expenses. Explorer Scouts Home Seven Explorer Scouts returned home last Saturday evening from ‘, three day camping and fishing trip on Battle Lake, Minn. They were accompanied by leaders, Bud Lawton and R. 0. Mortensen, and by Pred Smith.
