Cottageville Sergeant Wins Oak Leaf Cluster. Staff Sgt. Carl W. Stover, 20, son of Mrs. Focie Stover of Cottage ville, Jackson county, has been awarded the second bronze oak, leaf cluster to his Air Medal. | A top-turret gunner, Staff Sgt. Stover is serving in July with a 45th air force Liberator bombard ment squadron ‘which has been bombing Ploesti, Vienna, Steyr, Toulon and other strategic German industrial targets throughout southern Europe. 4 He was formerly employed by ‘the Fletcher Enamel Co., Dunbar, and enlisted in the air corps in No vember, 1842. He received his training in serial gunnery at Ft. . Myers, Fla. and was stationed at Langley field, Va, before leaving the States.
