Recreation Program for Summer Now Well Under Way Here Monday morning another of the morning swim and life saving classes were held at the munici pal plunge with a large attend ance of Corona and Norco young sters. That afternoon the second recreational period of the two month season, which started Sat urday, likewise drew a large host of youngsters for the games, sports and other features given by the Youth Recreation associa tion of this city. A total of 226 Corona and Noreo boys and girls appeared at the plunge Saturday morning. The classes for that day were organized by Robert Hendrickson, instructor and playground direc tor, and the work started at once. He was assisted by work ers of the Red Cross, members of the sponsoring association and the regular plunge attendants. For Mexican Children Robert C. Keller is president of the Youth Recreationists and Miss Florence Gully is secretary. Reg istrations for the classes are near ly at the 400 mark now, it is reported. The swimming and life saving classes are free to all youngsters who have returned cards issued by the Red Cross. The registration for the plunge classes is now closed. A splendid recreational pro gram is again being held at the park this afternoon for all young sters of the two communities. Baseball teams are being organ ized, volleyball, croquet, jacks, horseshoes, checkers and mumb ley-peg tournaments are being started and plans are being made for handicraft work and toffey pulls. A story hour for younger children is a feature of the day.
