SHAVER PASSED AWAY SUNDAYDEATH FOLLOWED BRIEF ILLNESSEditor of The Jackson Argus Claimed by Typhoid Fever—Was Successful Editor And Useful Woman to The Town And County—Funeral HereFollowing an illness of only a few days, Mrs. A. H. Shaver, ed-tor and proprietor of the Jackson Argus, died at a private san-torium in Atlanta Sunday night. She was taken ill about ten davr tgo and the first of last week vas carried to Atlanta for trcat-nent. The disease hail taken a leep hold on her system and shegradually grew weaker etill the •nd came. Death was caused by yphoid fever and other complications.News of Mrs. Shaver’s deatlaused sincere regret here and hroughout the state where she vas known and admired. Shlt; njoyed the esteem of a wide cir-le of friends who were attracted o her by her charming personalty. Her work as an editor won ier many friends. She was a nember of the Georgia Weekly Vess Association and took a keen nterest in the meetings of that tody.Mrs. Lula McCord Shaver war . member of a prominent family. he was a native of Conyers am vas about fifty years of age a' he time of her death. With strong conviction? nd a clearly defined vision be-ween right and wrong she ever ast her influence on the side of loral and religious betterment he was a member of the Meth-dist church and was deeply in* ?rested in temperance problems.. constructive force for good in \e community, a Christian moth-r and- loyal friend, her death is severe blow.Surviving Mrs. Shaver are .vo children, H. McCord Shaver, student of Emory college, and atherine; three brothers Messrs t. Y., of Atlanta, J. W., of ackson, Joseph W. McCord, of rawfordville; one sister, Mrs... E. Buttrill, of Longview. Tex. The remains were brought to ackson Monday night and the moral was held Tuesday morri-lg at 10 o’clock from the Meth-Jist church. The impressive :*rvices were conducted by Rev. .. C. Cleckler, the pastor, and .ev. A. F. McMahon. The fun-ral was largely attended and umerous and beautiful floral •ibutcs showed the affection ofring a certain public road in Butts county in order that the good citizens of your county of Monroe may easily gain access to andmany friends. Burial was in the city cemetery.The pallbearers were Messrs J. H. Carmichael, T. J. Dempsey, S. O. Ham, R. P. Sasriett, H. W. Turner, J. B.
