Kincaid, died coat Saturday evening at 8 o'clock, at her home on Pad dy’s creek, in Linville town ship. All that medical skill and kind hands could do for her was of no avail and long before death came all hope of recovery was lost. The end was peaceful and she passed away as though she were only going to sleep, surrounded by all of her children but one, a son, who lives in the West. Mrs. Kincaid was a consist ent member of the Methodist church and died with a faith in her Lord that is comforting to those left behind. She was 66 years of age and was the mother of 9 chil dren—4 sons and 5 daughters, two of whom, a son and a daughter, preceded her to the great beyond. Her husband also died three years ago. The surviving children are: Mrs. J. P. May and Mrs. T. G. Cobb, of Morganton; Mrs. E. E. Gound, of Anniston, Ala.; Mrs. J. F. Wilson, of Nebo; Mr. W. B. Kincaid, of Kings Mountain; Mr. R. P. Kincaid, of Marshall, Texas, and Mr. C. B. Kincaid, who lives at the old homestead. Deceased was, before her mar riage to Mr. Kinccaid,a Conley, daughter of Wim. Conley, the farm on which she lived being inherited by her from her father, who lived and died there. The funeral services were held at the home Sunday even ig at 5 o'clock, and in the absence of deceased’s pastor, were conducted by Mr. Joshua Gibbs, an all neighbor and friend and thoroughly conse crated man. A large number of relatives and friends from the surrounding country, as well as a goodly number of the old slaves of the family, attended. The interment was at the family burying ground on the farm.
