James Carnell, of Ormond, an old and experienced guava jelly manufacturer, spent several days in Lake Worth this week prospecting, with a view of removing his plant from Ormond to this place. In an interview with a representative of The News, Ur. Carnell says that his object in coming farther south is to be nearer the guava crop, and ito save the expense of shipping the raw material. He is well pleased with the Lake Worth section, and in all probability will locate here in the very near future. The manufacture of guava jelly is destined to become one of Dade’s best paying industries. For several years past one or two small factories have been in active operation, and many thousands of glasses of this rare jelly have been shipped into the northern and eastern markets, where the demand has never yet been supplied.
