I invite you out to visit Mrs. Luda Lindsey. You will enjoy her sweet personality and her keen sense of humor. She has been crippled with arthritis for 42 years and is confined to a wheel chair but it has not dampened her spirits at all.She was born in Comman-che County in 1900. She wastne oldest of ten children and was her daddy’s “boy” until finally the sixth child was a boy. She said for entertainment they branded, worked and dipped cattle and rode horses. Sure sounds like fun, doesn’t it?In 1911 her family moved to Meadow and there she met R.K. “Cap” Lindsey and in 1918 they borrowed his Dad’s car without permission and drove to Lubbock and married.Luda and Cap ranched and farmed for a few years, then moved into Ropes and bought a feed store.
