JOHN G. SMITH John G. Smith, 801 Main street, Forest City, died unexpectedly Friday, July 2, 1976, at home. His widow is the former Kathryn Kane. Born in Forest City, he was the son of the late John and Anna Matrichko Smith. The deceased was a member of St. Mich ael's Church, Forest City, its Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus Coun cil, Forest City. He was the owner of Humdinger Drive-In Restaurant, Forest City, and was busing contractor for the Forest City Regional School District, president of the Forest City Commercial Association, former treasurer of the For est City Recreation Commission, and an Army veteran of World War II. Also surviving are three sons, John, Binghamton, N. Y., Paul, U.S. Army, Germany, and Mark, Coast Guard, Beach Haven, N. J.; three daughters, Mrs. Stephen (Patricia) Seweryn, Mertztown; Miss Kathryn and Miss Ann Marie, at home; a brother, Rudolph Smith, Forest City; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Dor othy) Kameen, Lancaster and Mrs. Rob ert (Irene) Hartenstein, Youngstown, Ohio; nieces and nephews. The funeral service was on Tuesday from the McGranaghan - Wilczynski Funeral Home, Forest City with mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Forest City. Interment, St. John’s Cemetery, Forest City. MRS. ESTHER FEY Esther Elizabeth Mason Fey, 96, of Lake Como died Sunday, July 4, 1976 at Barnes- Kasson Hospital, Susquehanna. Surviving are a son, Raymond; a daughter, Eliza beth; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Viewing at the Biedekapp Funeral Home, Hancock, N.Y., will be from noon today (Tuesday). Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. The women of the Lake Como Methodist Church will serve lunch for those making the trip to the Flushing, Long Island, New York, cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted and instead, a contribution be made to a favorite charity. MRS, OLIVER H. SHIFLER Mrs. Florence A. Shifler, 94 North Main street, Carbondale, wife of retired funeral director Oliver H. Shifler, and mother of funeral directors Glynn C. Shifler, Clif ford, and Oliver R. Shifler, Carbondale, and Robert J. Shifler, a Greenfield Two contractor, died Sunday, July 4, 1976, in Carbondale General Hospital after an illness. She was a daughter of the late Oliver J. and Amelia Tegeler Reynolds, and was born in Atco, Wayne County. Mrs. Shifler was a member of First United Methodist Church, Carbondale, the United Methodist Women, the Friend Ship Circle, the Come-Join-Us-Class of the church; Garnet Chapter 66, Order of the Eastern Star, the Senior Ladies Auxiliary of Carbondale General Hospital and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clifford Two, Volunteer Fire Dept. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Ava Botens, Honesdale, and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Wednesday at the convenience of the family from Glynn C. Shifler Funeral Home, 102 Dundaff street, Clifford, the Rev. Charles F. J. Starzer, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Carbondale, officiating. Interment, Wil low View Cemetery, Clifford, MRS. FREDERICK DeREAMER Mrs. Nellie J. DeReamer, Honesdale RD 4, died Monday, July 5, 1976, in Wayne County Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for three weeks. She was 93. Born in Swamp Brook, a daughter of the late William and Sarah Rosencrance Daniels, she was a life-long resident of this community. Mrs. DeBeamer was a member of the White Mills United Metho dist and also the Royal Neighbors Lodge. Her husband, Frederick, preceded her in death in 1945. They were married on March 16, 1904, the first couple to be married in the White Mills Methodist Church. She is survived by two sons, Charles, White Mills; William, Honesdale; three
