Nathan was the only oneof the workmen between the safe and*the.bottom of the stairs. T?be safe came backwards down the'steps like a bullet and it Is nothing short of miraculous how he escaped with his life. The result was a badly crushed foot and lower leg, which Dr. Pugh hopes can be saved if no complications set In.Nathan worked lor a number *of years at the Georgia Railroad freight office afid was experienced in doing heavy lift' ing.
