Chas. Peibain, son of Mr, and Mrs, J. J, Pelham of this place, while on his way from Spearnsb, S. D., to Thermopolis on a visit to hie parents, was struck by lightning while passing through Sheridan and fortunately escaped instant death though the young man had a close call, the elec-1 trie bolt striking him on the head, says the Sheridan Post, tearing his hat into shreds and burning his head and hair in a horrible manner, and then passed to his right shoulder, then down his side to his hip, then j it left hia body. He became uncoil-1 scous and for a time was thought to be beyond earthly help, but by the efforts of Drs. Denebrink and Jones he rallied and is now oil the road to complete recovery*
