The Auxiliary of Madison Post American Legion, received a Blue Ribbon and in addition a citation of the Sixth District in Granville last Tuesday. The Blue Ribbon was presented for being second highest of the 33 units in the district in a Member ship contest. The local unit reach ed 134% of the quota assigned and for reporting the results of the contest_by last November 1, Mrs. Harry Steel, was presented a cor sage at the session. The citation was presented for “Meritorious service in carrying forward the program of the Amer ican Legion Auxiliary.” The West Jefferson unit was fifth in highest in the membership contest. Attending from Madison Post Auxiliary were: Mrs. Floyd Wil liams, Mrs. Leo Daley, Mrs. M. J. Chakeres, Mrs. Charles Ballenger and Mrs. Harry Steel, who remain ed for a visit with relatives in that area, returning home Friday, as Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Evans of Ak ron, spent the weekend with their son, Dick Evans, and also Mrs. Evans’ brother, R. L. Chaney and family, North Main Street.
