DEATH OF MISS JEAN GRAY Durham lost an old and esteemed resident on Sunday in the person of Miss Jean Gray, who passed away at the advanced age of 79 years. She was born in Scotland and came to Canada when a child with her par ents, who settled for a time in Dun das. About 70 years ago the family came to this vicinity and settled on the Gray farm at McClinton’s Corners about two miles south of town, where the deceased lived till mov ing to town about twenty years ago, and continued in her work as dress maker. Miss Gray was the last of a family of two sons and four daughters, and was well and favorably known in town and locality. For the past year or more she had not been well and on election day contacted pneumonia from which she died Monday, and interment was made Tuesday afternoon at Maple wood cemetery. The pall-bearers were : John Mc Gowan, George Meikle, Thomas Gray (nephew , James Burt, John Bogle, and Mark McClyment. The deceased was a devoted Pres byterian and the funeral services were conducted by her pastor, the Rev. W. H. Smith.
