200 SHOP MEN ON STRIKE HERETwo hundred members of the railroad shop crafts quit work at the Great Northern Shops in the city on Saturday morning of last week at ten o’clock after receiving a strike order from headquarters on Thursday night. The strike was ordered after a vote had been taken among the members of the union all over the country as to whether or not accept a reduction in wages which took effect July 1.A meeting of the shop crafts was held at Labor hall the evening before the men walked out and a resolution was passed putting the aembers on record as being opposed to all violence. A committee consisting of three members from each union was elected to conduct the strike in this section.Trains are running as usual and railroad officials insist that the equipment is in the best of condition and that even if the strike is prolonged for a month or more no illeffects will be suffered, and that later repairs might be made in outside shops in case the men do not go back to work.The strike committee appointed here is as follows:Machinist, Charles Nix, Steve Riley, George German.Chairmen, John Nies, John Schumacher, John Mason.Blacksmiths, F.
