Franklin Harrington After Drinking Hard Lay Down on Lounge in Sister’s Home and Died Franklin Madison Harrington, aged 46 years, died under peculiar circum stances at the home of his sister, Mrs. Erving Haun, in Plunkett’s lane, last evening. He had been drinking during the day and went to his sister’s home about 3 o’clock. He lay down on the lounge in the sitting room to sleep and about 7 o’clock it was found that he was dead. The discovery of his death was made when it was noticed that he was in danger of falling off the lounge and an attempt made to wake him and warn him against falling onto the floor. The na ture of the case was such that Medi cal Examiner O. J. Brown of North Adams was called and he found death due to nauural causes, heart failure, probably brought in by the excessive use of alcohol. Mr. Harrington’s relatives said he had been without liquor for two weeks until the night before the Fourth, the court having placed him on probation for six months. His heart was not strong for some time and his drinking again after having stopped is be lieved to have affected him seriously. He had worked Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Mr. Harrington was born in this town and was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Harrington. For a num ber of years he had been a teamster and worked on the town roads. He us ually had charge of the road scraper and when not drinking was a capable workman. He was of a quiet disposition and made many friends. Mr. Harrington is survived by a wid ow and three children. The children are Mrs. Dwight Hox sie, Clarence F. and Sarah. He also leaves three sisters. Mrs. Dwight Jen ningss and Mrs. Erving Haun of this town and Miss Della Harrington, of Lee. Also a step-brother, Orval Harrington of Savoy. The funeral will probably be held to morrow afternoon.
