Tuesday, June 26th, having passed his eightieth birthday last February. Mr. Spellman moved from Licking county, Ohio, to Towa In 1858 and the following year came to Jasper county, purchasing the farm on which he made his home until his death. HU wife, a step-sister of Recorder Fred A.-Eaton, died about eight years ago. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Rasp of Newburg and Misses Ella and Gertrude Spelman remaining at ho'me. Mr. Spelman was a kind father, an obliging neighbor and a good citizen.The funeral was held at the residence, Thursday, conducted by Rev.
