He is a member of Bat* tery Wetzel, and in stepping forward to fire the cannon he slipped and fell oh the breech of the piece.- At the same time the charge exploded, thepowder being forced out of the vent,• • • / • • ‘ • •burning his face in a terrible manner. His head -was also badly cut. Dr, Hat-tery was‘called and hopes to save his eyesight.Witfc“is an unlucky fellow. Since then he has been injured at the Bussell shops in several different manners. He has the sympathy Of all his friends.
