— The remains of Ex-President Mon- ROR were to be removed from their resting- Place at New York City, on Saturday last, and conveyed to Richmond, Va, where a splendid monument is to be erected over them. The ceremonies on the occasion are to take place today, and will be of the most imposing character. The Seventh Regi ment of New York have chartered a steam boat to convey the remains, and it is estima ted the trip will cost them $15,000. A mong the pall-bearers to accompany the re mains, is Lieut. Gen. Scott. The Virginia committee has been at New York for a week past, making arrangements; and it is thought the turn-out there will be one of the grandest and most creditable New York ever witnessed. The ceremonies at Rich mond will be of the most interesting kind. Death of two Prominent Philadelphians. On the 27th alt. Judge Robert S. Con rad, well known throughout the State, died at his residence, in Philadelphia, suddenly, in the 5st year of his age. Hon. Job R. Tyson, another prominent Philadelphian, died at his residence in Montgomery county, after a protracted at tack of Typhoid fever. He was about 55 years of age. Mlinois Politics.—The republicans of Illinois seem to be thoroughly united in fa vor of the Hon. Abraham Lincoln, as their candidate for United States Senator to suc ceed Judge Douglas. Out of the hundred Republican county conventions which have been held in the State, resolutions in his favor have been adopted by ninety-five.— Mr. Lincoln was always leading Whig during the existence of that party, and is a reliable man.
