Jeannot, known to-an extens-I; ive acquaintance in the Pend d’Greil-5 le country as “Joe** Jeannot, died at 5:25 Wednesday morning at his home at Hope* He arrived home Monday night from Rochester, Minn., where he went 10 days previously with the hope of prolonging his life by an operation. The doctors at 5Iayos told him he was suffering from cancer of the- stomach and that there was no help for him. Mr. Jeannot had been U1 for about a year and spent last winter in southern California, returning early in the spring feeling much improved in heat»J. 51. Jeannot was one of the early settlers of Hdpe and was a prominent business man there when Hope was the scene of much railroad activity. He had * been there since 1SS7. He was a member of the firm of Jeannot Bros., when the firm was in the ~ general store business at Hope. He was for many years connected with mining interests on the lake and was the manager and a heavy stockholder ?or many years in the Blue Bird ^mining company.The deceased was 61 years of age. He leaves'three brothers, Louis H., of Dixon, Mont, and Ed and Will Jeannot of Tiger, Wfcsh. His wife died at Hope several years ago and he had no children.
