MARION C. BISHOP OF INDIANAP OLIS WILL DIRECT THE WORK IN ALL COUNTIES OF THE STATE. A survey of the rural church situa tion in Indiana has been started un der the erection of Marion C. Bishop, as part of the plan of the Interchurch World Movement of North America. Mr. Bishop has an office at 710 State Life building in Indianapolis from which he will direct the survey, which will be made by from one to four men in each county. A survey council of twenty-one men and women, repre senting leading denominations, will be appointed to act in an advisory capacity. Mr. Bishop is a graduate of De Pauw university, and has been pastor for four years of a Methodist church at Romney, Ind. He developed the church into a community center, and a new building with social rooms, auditorium and kitchen was erected. Questionnaires will be used in col lecting complete data on the status of all churches in rural communities. At the same time the community life will be studied, with the ultimate pur pose of making economic, social and religious centers of the churches. The idea of the interchurch world move ment is co-operation, not union. It is expected, Mr. Bishop said, that the entire work will require about a year’s time. As soon as first results are noted, work will be begun on a constructive program for co-operation of Protestant churches in the interest of better equipment and broader fields of work. the county is expected to have in the Parade. Most of the townships have received this material and have all plans perfected for participation. The committee members are somewhat dis appointed to find that some of the townships have not made any prepar ations to enter a float in the pageant. The hunting and decorating material has been purchased by the Fourth of July committee and there is no ex pense attached to the township. All expected of it is that some of its resi dents come to Longwel-Cummings and secure the material and decorate a float and enter it in the parade. Medals are Here. The medals, fifteen hundred of them are here and are on display in the Red Cross Pharmacy window. George Babcock, chairman of the medal com mittee, announces that he will see that the medals are promptly deliver ed immediately after the free fried chicken dinner at Spencer park at which time the medals are to be given the men, each with his name engraved on it. This demonstration is for the sail ors, Marines and soldiers of the coun ty. Every man who served in any capacity is invited. Chairman M. M. Wall of the soldiers’ committee wish es to emphasize again the fact that some of the men may not have receiv ed a personal invitation due to error in address but that despite that fact he is invited and urged to be present. It is going to be a day that you will want to talk about for years to come. Don’t permit the occasion to pass with out being present and sharing in the memories of the day in years to come. The triumphal arch at the corner of Third and Broadway has been com pleted and the giant figure of achieve mnt which is being done by E. Pierre Wainwright, local scnlptor, will be raised to its place on the top of the Victory arch today. The statue stands 13 feet in height. It will be seen from any place in Broadway. Two large re flectors will be used to throw light on the figure and the arch.
