C. A. Valentine, one of the ancient residents of the Loomis neighborhood, spent a few days in Oroville this week, taking a brief rest from the toils of ranching. Mr. Valentine is looking after the old Cochran place, on Blue lake, a land mark of the Sinlahekin valley. He is a faithful worker and careful manager, and knows how to handle land to get the most out of it. Mr. Valentine is getting tired of living far from the busy haunts of men, and is thinking seriously of securing a small tract in the valley near Oroville, where he can make a permanent home and at the same time be in touch with metropolitan life.
