money by closing their doors.Report of the Board of State Charities to the Governor of the condition of all the jails in the State says that the Dearborn County jail is one of the worst in the State, having nearly all of the faults possible. Any prisoner kept in this jail more than a few weeks would probably suffer in health. . If so, he would have a good cause of action against the county for damages, and any fair-minded jury would give him a verdict. The Secretary of the Board, who has done the inspecting, appears to be of the opinion that river towns have more use tor jails than inland towns.
