Sudden Dkath.—A stranger by the name of Jonathan Stevens, aged 65 years, died at the Planter’s Hotel, m this village, on the afternoon of Sunday last, of chronic diarrhea. He was from Gouldsboro’, Maine, and had been on a visit to his friends at Rosendale. He had been more or lose troubled with the boweL complaint for some months. On reaching this village on Saturday evening,, the complaint assumed a more severe type, and medical aid was at once summoned ; but the system had bccomo so deranged, that medicine had little or no effect upon it. His funeral was attended by a brolher, eon and a few other relatives, as well as by many of our own citizens, at 9 o\eiocJi on j\|imday morning.
