inning, but not until Upper Adams had put the game out of Gettysburgs’ reach by scoring 11 runs off six hits. Gettysburg would committ six errors in that one inning alone. After that inning the Gettysbug dugout which had been chanting throughout the game was suddenly silent and a previosly quite Upper Adams bench began to take up chanting, Upper Adams’ pitcher Travis Kuykendall made sure that there would be no chance of a Gettysburg rally, putting down the side 1-2-3 in the fourth. Kuykendall went the distance for Upper Adams and struck out three while giving up four walks and six hits. Gettysburg's D.J. Stahl also went the distance on the mound but gave up 12 hits and a walk. After the game the managers from both teams smiled, for very different reasons, when discussing their teams’ performance. “I thought it was going to be a pretty competitive game and it was through the first three innings,” said Gettysburg manager Rob Mentzer, “That fourth inning it just seemed like everything that could go wrong went wrong and we really shot ourselves in the foot with the amount of errors we committed. “It has been an interesting tournament for us and while you can’t ever be happy losing, I have to say it has been great to work with these kids, and they're young and they have much more baseball in front of them.” On the opposite side of the field Upper Adams manager, Eric Gladhill, took the win with a grain of si as his tear faces Mifflin County again, tonight at 7:30. “Sure, I am definitely happy about the win and knowing that this win got us into the state tourna ment is a good feeling,” he said. “But, we are facing a tough Mifflin County team again for the second time in three days. What I can promise is that Mifflin will see a much different Upper Adams team than what they saw Sunday night.” Before the 14-year old game the 13-year old game between Gettysburg and Upper Adams was played.
