Twelve schools ascribed Irregular attendance ro seasonal employ -await of parents. As mother and father move from pincc to place in search of work, their children move with them. Often Aboriginal and part-AboriginSJ children would come to a district- for a period of time, without actually attending School while they were there.However, for many schools it was not claimed that seasonal occupation of the children's parents was responsible for absenteeism. There must be other causes involved.Aboriginal children are cbvlousiy disadvantaged by their depressed living conditions. Living on the fringe of middle-class civilization. they do cot have the facilities and privacy essential for consistent study. They do hot have electric light or a place to study or do homework.
