ONE-LEGGED WALKER ONWAY TO JACKSONVILLE; — f I RALPH TOMPKINS, OUT ON ALONG WALK, TO ARRIVE INBRUNSWICK TODAY.Ralph D. Tompkins, a young one-legged walker, who ,s now making:! the last leg of his 1,000-mile walk from New York to Jacksonville, will i arrive in Brunswick today from Savannah, and, after spending the day ( here and resting for some little time,!1 will start out on the last ninety miles j 1 of his long walk. 'jlYoung Tompkins is about 18 years 5 of age, and although he has hut one ’ leg he is one of the champion watlk- 1 lt;ers of the world. He started out from j t New York tor Jacksonville many' lt;weeks ago and has slowly made his ' way toward the Florida city The young man makes his living while on the walk b disposing of small pos-tal-card photos of himself. He left New York with the intention of walking to Jacksonville in 100 days and he will succeed as he now has many days in which to reach that city iu the required time.
