Lauren Jones the present editor of the Gordon Journal came out last week with his salutation in which he outlines the situation.We have known Mr. Jones aboutfive years anil know nothing butgood of him. lie is modest, unassuming and gentlemanly, a scholar of considerable talent and is in the field where Ids ability will be appreciated. Wc wish him success.The Gordon Journal has swapped editors. The former editor. II. G. Lyon has stepped down without a farewell or a wave of the hand nor docs any one seem to care if he’ll just stay in the back alleys somewhere and keep out of sight. This part of the country has seen enough of the aristocrat who speaks of his wife's company as having once been a “domestic in our family,”and is always trying to solve the servant problem on paper. Down and out wi and let this nation be free.Let net Caesar's servile minionsMock tbe Lyon thus laid low It wae no human hand that slew him’Twas his own thatstruck the blow.”Uncreditcd Ram's Horn blasts and Globe Sights don't make an editorial page of a good newspaper but they fit nicely in the setter, once said a printer, of Lyon’s paper. The man succeeding Lyon as editor of the Journal is well known as an honest, honorable young man and is well liked by all who know him. If Lyon will let him alone and keep out of the office lie will be successful in gettingback all the trade that belongs to the Journal, but the people will insist upon knowing that Lyon has nothing to do with the paper.
