Hon. Alfred J. Anderson, of Hamilton. O., the veteran anti-slavery agitator of a quarter of a century ago, and an earnest, straight-forward,life long Republican, is an applicantfor the mission to 11 ay ti in the eventot a vacancy. Should Hon. J. M-Langston no longer desire to represent our fiovcrnment in Hayti, we donot think that President Garfield could appoint any gentleman to fill the vacancy that would give anymore genuine satisfaction to the colored people all over the country, and who would more ably discharge his duties, than Allred J. Anderson.
