The item is going the rounds and is not disputed. I had not previously read of this transaction, virtually transferring the holy land into Jewish hands. When did it occur? What is the date of this remarkable mortgage? Who can furnish the world a copy of it? Surely this is a grand point in history. God’s clock strikes. Does it begin the end of the treading down of Jerusalem by the Gentiles. Does it announce the commencement of the justiQcation of the Iloly Hill or holy places, against which God’s indignation has for centuries burned ? I can’t begin to think of being nosed about by such persons. Let God speak in his providences; we will all hear him.—D. T. T.The list of advent workers furnishesfew, if any, brighter names than D. T. T. and H. L. II. How many years I have been instructed by their intelligent and faithful pens. I can not tell how glad I am to see them passive and reverent before God on the Jew question ; and giad they are persistent in their right to do their own thinking.Officioosness, arrogance and oracular conceit are of no weight on either side of any question. The truth does not wait on human follies. We all learned
