ou,iichCouuty Convention*Pursuant to notice, the nominating Delegates of the Democratic County Convention, met at the Court House in the town .of \Vi!mihgton,on Monday, the 29ih day of 'June, 1840. ,Capt. WILLIAM LANIUS, President of the Convention, took the Chair, and Alex. E. Glenn was chosen Secretary.Mr. James H. Lino being called u stated the object of the Convention, \v was to nominate a candidate for Representative in the place of Thomas M. Brcckcn-ridge, Esq., who declined the nomination.Thereupon, the Contention proceeded to nominate by ballot, a candidate to supply said vacancy, and on ihc second ballot, Colonel MARK McCRACKEN, of Manchester township, was dulv nominated.The following resolution was then unanimously adopted:Resolved, That as Delegates and members of the Democratic pkrtv, wo pledge ourselves to uso all honorable means in our power to secure the election of the Democratic ticket of this county as it now stands.On motion, the Convention adjourned.WM.
