John, son of Longiey and Josephine Davis Parker, was born June 24, I9d0, hear Coon Rapids.He attended the rural schools near«... * - * '•his home and later graduated from the Coon Rapids high school. He was united' in marriage with Ila Erb July 26, 1923.After farming near Coon Rapids, John* became one of the first• ^ i •employees of the Garst and Thomas Seed Corn Company and •worked for them for many years until retiring. John’s wife passed away September 16, 1965. John continued to make his home in Coon Rapids until a few months ago when he moved to Spencer to be near his son. He passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital Thursday morning, June 24, 1976, on his birthday, at the age of 76 years.John was a member of Charity Lodge No. 197, AF and AM, CoonRapids. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, two brothers, Seth and Gurney, and one sister, Mrs Leila Pevestorf. He is survived by two sons, John J (Ace)Aof Spencer, and Jerry of Coon Raids, by two sisters, Mary Dot (Mrs ‘*Ford) Weibel, Houston, Texaspand Polly (Mrs Lonnie) Blass,Guthrie Center; 15 grandchildren ; four great grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers, Eunice (Mrs Wesley) Davis of Coon Rapids; Cecile (Mrs Elmer) South, Marengo; Alfred Parker, Coon. Rapids; Thelma (Mrs Tom) Bloes, Vellejo, Calif, and Margaret (Mrs Roger) Zeller,Bagley, as well as by many other relatives and many friends.
