TUESDAY MORNINGUlysses Grant Cooper passed away • * at his home in Bruce at 5:45 o'clock j Tuesday morning, June 50. He was I ^ past 85 years of age when he passe 1 \ r away. Death was due to heart failure * and was unexpected as he had been ^ around town of late.He was the son of Nancy and Joseph Cooper and was born in Illinois on June 3, 1863. The family lived at Scandia, Kansas tmtil 1888,On April 3, 1888 Mr. Cooper was united in marriage to Fannie May 1 ^ Taylor at Republic City, Kansas. The j a couple spent the first few years of ; * their married life in Kansas then moved to Count, luwa, ILet U St. James, Minnesota and then to Norway, Kansas. In 1915 the Coopers moved to their farm north of Bruce where they resided until 1942 when Mr. and Mrs. Cooper moved to Bruce. Part of the time from 1942 to the present was spent In CbaTifornia and Oregon. The past three years were spent in their home here.Mr. uouper engaged in faTmmg and stock buying1 while on the farm in this community. He was a member of the United Brethem Church.Nine living children and .Mrs. Cooper survive. They are Mrs. Florence Tiegs, Bruce; Earl Cooper, Milwaukee; James Cooper, Si! vert on, Oregon; Mrs. Dorothy Boylan, Alta* dena. California; Mrs. Orpba Fleah, Riverton, Wyoming; Mrs. Edith Stetson, Molalla, Oregon; Clyde Cooper. Bruce; Mrs. Alice Wright, Mineral Wells, Texas; and Mrs. Yeona Thomas, Los Angeles, Calif, and the widow, Mrs. Fannie Cooper,There are a!ro 30 living grandchildren. 30 great grandchildren, two sisters and four brothers, who are Mrs, May Bowersox, Mrs, Grace Newton, Ashley Cooper, Jay Cooper, Newell Cooper of Kansas and Bert Cooper of Los Angeles.
