George Pence was horn in Fair field county, Ohio, March 21, 1820. His parents died when he was young, leaving him to make his way through life alone. In 1843 he was married to Miss Lydia Schanck. To them were horn thirteen children, five of them with his wife have gone before him to that better world. Mr. Pense was a member of the M. E. church and for many years his Bible has been a great comfort to him, putting in much of his time reading it. Ilis childn n that are living are John S. Mr. Pence died June IP, IPO i, aged 84 years and 4 months. Funeral services were conducted by Uncle John Tweed.
