DWIGHT.A temperance league has been organized here, the object of the association being for the purpose of enlightening and creating a greater sentiment for temperance among the young people. The officers of the league are: President, Rev. Mr. Drew; vice president, Dr. Hamilton; treasurer, John Stewart; secretary, Roy Baker.John Cherry, the paving contractor, has the streets all torn to pieces. He expects to be ready to commence laying the concrete base next week.The revival going on in the big tent, conducted by the Danish Methodist church, is attracting large attendance and there is considerable interest being manifested.Eroest Donegan and Burton Orr attended the Epworth League convention at Rockford Wednesday and Thursday of this week, as delegates from this city.The attendance at the M. E. Sunday school is reported by the secretary averaging 185 for the past three months.B. A. Buck and James Keleghar attended the congressional convention at Pontiac Monday.The baseball team went to Wenona thismorning, Thursday, to play the Wenona fire department team.Miss McWilliams, daughter of David McWilliams, has gone to visit in Bar Harbor, Maine. From there, in July, she will go to the old country to travel and rest forthe summer.Our people are much pleased with the announcement that the electric railroad is to be built this summer from Pontiac to Dwight, knowing that this means the continuing of the road to Joliet next year.The 4th is to be celebrated here next.onday, in the good old style. “Every old thing goes’7 is the way the managers put it.
