N e va Geib, 67, Rites Held MondayFuneral services for Mrs. Neva Geib, 67, were .held Monday morning, Jan. 28, at 10:30 a.m., in the United Methodist Church, Marathon, with Rev. Robert Winter, officiating. Music was furnished by the organist, Mrs. LaVern Ebersole. Mrs. Laverae Cope and Mrs. Harold Netsch were in. charge of the floral arrangements. Bearers were Gale Howe, Nyle Howe, James Neary, Laverne Cope, Russell Luther and Harold Netsch. Interment was made in the Marathon Cemetery under direction of the Nelson Funeral Home.ObituaryNeva Gertrude Geib was born April 25, 1906, at Pickerel Lake, Iowa, and passed away Jan. 24, 1974, at the Pocahontas Community Hospital.The daughter of Charles and Edna Lincoln, she resided in Northwest Iowa her entire life, attended the local school and graduated from the Marathon High School in 1924.She leaves to mourn, her family, Robert and Helen Holmes of Denver, Colo., Jim and Jerry Holmes of Sioux City, Iowa, Beryl and Shirley Henderson of Graettin-ger, Iowa and Mark and Susan Geib of DeSmet, South Dak.; one step-son, Ben Geib of Indianapolis, Ind., and two step-daughters, Betty Fairman and Verdabelie Husman of Lafayette, Ind. There are also 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory, also two sisters, Ethel Bartley of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Laura Wedgebury of Hardy, Ark., and two brothers, Warren Lincoln of Worthington, Minn., and Charles Lincoln of Gruver, nieces and nephews, many relatives and a host of friends.Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Gladys Hillman, and her husband, Rufus E. Geib.She will always be remembered for her compassion which she demonstrated to her family, the young people and many friends who always found her home open to them. Because of her love for young people, a memorial fund has been established in her name at Hillcrest Services for Youth, head office in Des Moines, Iowa.Among the many relatives attending the services in addition to her immediate family, were Ben Geib of Indianapolis, Ind., and Verdabelie Husman of Lafayette, Ind., Mrs. Laura Wedgebury of Hardy, Ark., the Warren Lincolns of Worthington, Minn., Charles Lincoln of Gruver, and a niece, Theo Gradek of San Francisco, Calif., and many relatives from various points in Iowa and other states. Mrs. Bartley spent Sunday here with the family, but was not able to be present Monday at the services.
