JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — Eddie Mathews scored 30 points Saturday night to lead Greenwood to a 72-66 dou ble overtime victory over Greenville in the champion ship game of the Big Eight Conference's north division basketball tournament. Dean Hudson was high for the losers with 22 points in a game that was close all the way. Jackson Callaway defeated Jackson Central 75-65 in the consolation match. In Saturday afternoon's semifinals Mathews hit for 26 points to lead Greenwood to a 56-95 victory over Cor inth. Greenwood trailed by four points with a minute left to play, but managed to pull the game out of the fire. Greenville won its game by outscoring Callaway 92- 47, George Kelly was hidk for fine winners with 16 points while Billy Frank Oliver and Stanley Jemerson had 14 each for Callaway. Named to the all-tournament team were Mathews, Larry Dorsey and Gary King of Corinth, Clarence Johnson and Joe McCaskill of Jackson Central, Stanley Jemerson and Pervie Sims of Jackson Callaway, Wal ter Atwood, George Kelly and Dean Hudson of Green ville, Willie Price of Meridian and Willie Long and Ken Surrat of Tupelo.
