■ ■ MThe Liberals have a grievance againstthe senate, because that body intervened on two occasions to preven t the money of , the people of Canada being stolen by political friends of the government. If they were sincere in their advocacy of senate reform why did they not dissolve the house and appeal to the people. Upon the charge of maladministration of the Yukon, the government had practically pleaded guilty, and nearly every official had disappeared from office, to be succeeded by new and better men. The government has always treated British Columbia with studied contempt. Last spring they paid a Seattle firm $S0,-000 in advance on a $150,000 contract for supplies for the troops going to the Yukon, instead of giving the contract to a Victoria or Vancouver firm.fihn j’lflcJTiirrtfli o -» n
