OBITUARIES MURIEL HELENE (NEE SHARPEN) DUPRE Peacefully, with her fam ily by her side at the Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville, Ontario on Friday, January 12, 2007, in her 93rd year. Helene Sharpen, born in Roblin, Manitoba, beloved wife of the late William Gordon DDUPre. Loving mother of William Dean, his companion Mary and his late wife Norma; Gerald Wayne; the late Robert Gordon (Duke) and his wife Theresa. Fondly remem bered by her seven grand children, 13 great-grand children, one great-great granddaughter, nieces and nephews. Helene will be missed by her dear sister, Merle Quinn (Mississauga) and dear sister-in-law Mary DuPre (Edmonton). Sadly predeceased by brothers Borden, Donnie and Bill; sisters Oral Bergh and Lela Lietz. Helene’s family are hon ouring her request for pri vate funeral arrangements. if desired, memorial donations may be made to the Roblin and District Cemetery, Box 172, Roblin, Manitoba ROL 1PO. Mike Kapetz of Brandon, beloved husband of Fran and dear father of Trevor, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the Brandon Regional Health Centre Saturday, January 13, 2007, Mike was born in Roblin, MB to William and Annie Kapetz. After graduating from high school he left home soon after to work for Manitoba Highways on a construction crew. This proved to be the start of a long and fulfilling career of 41 years. He lived and worked in many areas of southern Manitoba and Winnipeg. He moved to Thompson on a temporary assignment with Northern Affairs to manage the con struction of airports in remote locations and ended up staying. In the north, he worked in many aboriginal communities using his knowledge of road con struction on permafrost and frozen lakes. It was also in the north where he met his wife, Fran.
