225 AREA AG TEACHERS IN MEET HEREAn Area IX meeting of administrators and vocational agriculture teachers was held, at the Community Inn Monday night with approximately 225 persons attending.Area IX is composed of 22 counties throughout East Texas. This is the first time the meeting has been held in Woodville.Dr. J. W. Edgar, Commissioner er of Education, and George Hurt, Director of Agricultural Education, both of Austin, were speakers at the dinner meeting.Roy Young, Area IX president who teaches at Livingston, was master of ceremonies at the meeting. Mr. Young is a graduate of the Kirby High School in Woodville and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dallas Young.The invocation was by Nolan Alders, vocational agriculture teacher at Nkcogdo -ches.B. H. McGuire, superintendent of Woodville Schools,gave the welcoming address. The response was by Ruben String-et vocational agriculture teacher at Mauriceville and Area IX vice president.Jeff Davis of Crockett, area supervisor of vocational agriculture, made the introductions.Dr. Edgar remained overnight here and made a tour of the Allan Shivers Library or Tuesday.AT AREA IX VOCATIONAL AGRICULTURE TEACHERS MEETING — Dr. J.
