Operator of Barker Roller Mills to Be Buried Saturday Afternoon Fidello H. Barker, 80, well known citizen, passed away at his home, 501 Steele Street, last night at 11:15 o'clock following a heart attack. Mr. Barker had been in usual health until his sudden at tack and his death came as a dis tinct shock to his family and his friends. Mr. Barker was born in Ran dolph County July 21,1861, the son of A. A. and Louisa Petty Barker. September 24, 1885, he married Mattie Millikan. At the time of his passing he was the owner of the Barker Roll er Mills, 409 Steele Street. He had been a resident of this city since 1875, his first, work here be ing with the Barker Sash and Blind Co., one of the first, if not the first company of its kind in operation here. In 1898 he moved to Winston - Salem, remaining there for several years. He was associated with the Huntley Stockton Hill Co. during iis stay there. Upon his return to this city from Winston-Salem he engaged in the milling business and for the past 34 years has been operating the Barker Botter Mills. He was a charter member at the Central Friends Church, a member of the pastoral committtee and of the Brotherhood class and was an active member. Surviving is the widow, Mrs. Mattie M. Bar ker; one son, D. Luther Barker, of this city; a daughter, Mrs. FE. W. Elliott of Farmer; two brothers, J. A. Barker of Archdale, and Tom Barker of this city; one sister, Mrs. Josie Mendenhall of High Point, and four grandchildren. ° Funeral services will be con ducted from the late residence, 501 Streete St. Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by the Rev. Cecil Ha worth, pastor of Central Friends Church, and the Rev. Tom Sykes of Thomasville. Interment will fol low in the family plot in the Oak wood Cemetery. The pallbearers selected from the Brotherhood Class of the Central Friends Church will be Wade Hiatt, Clar ence Farr, Banner Davis, H. S. Haworth, Jack Dunn and Reuben Davis.
